Francesco Bosso in Spoleto presents the new series “After Dark”, in addition to previous “White World” and “Golden Light”. A triple shooting in the scenic trip that turns into pictorial material, including infinitesimal variations of black and white and its stirring, dreamlike abstractions and calibrated geometry. Here, the pure photography that exceeds the boundary of technological time, crossing the threshold metaphysical space alien, places that become mental geography, the beautythat feeds images as well, rarefied as the placid water of a northern sea. GOLDEN LIGHT is figurative immersion in the Icelandic landscape. Boxwood has found analchemical harmony with the northern island, a box of precious intonations which is expressed in the rigor sacral atmosphere, plastic volumes in the mountains, in the density of oily water, as if it had mercury that holds the light, irradiating a metallic sheen and solarized-ray. Here the light expresses a peak modeling, profilingbecomes solid matter volumes of the landscape, to the point of making the color a sum epidermal and muscle. AFTER DARK ideally continues the search for the “Golden Light”, along a gradual descent into darker tones, modulations detailed gray, and marked contrast between the strong abstraction of the frame. Everything here is pure essence, the archetype of mental forms, geometry sidereal crosses the organic cycle of figuration naturist. The image is purified from all drossiconography, following the architectural imprint of Cartier-Bresson, creating sublime visions that move away from the ground and draw imaginary. WHITE WORLD is the cycle of saturation, the vertigo of white sidereal ecstasy that leads to the dark necessary. Spaces narrated confirm pictorial Bosso and his abstract consciousness, a code expression that seeks the Platonic ideal beyond the surface, beyond appearances emotionality objective, the poetic act beyond the fact narrated. THE DENSITY OF WHITE SHOW
INAUGURAZIONE: venerdì 28 Marzo ore 18,30 PERIODO : 28 Marzo / 6 Aprile ORARIO ESPOSITIVO: 8.30 / 17,30 SEDE ESPOSITIVA: Palazzo Coelli, piazza Febei,3 – Orvieto … luoghi dal solido impatto naturistico, progenie monolitica che impone la sua stazza arcaica in una costante strategia della resistenza. Il mondo diventa omogeneo davanti agli occhi del fotografo: dagli Stati Uniti alle Seychelles, dall’Italia alle montagne dell’Engadina, senti un filo (bianco in questo caso) che cuce le diverse geografie in una coerente disciplina dello sguardo. Le distanze si assottigliano sotto il respiro visivo dell’autore, scompare ogni fisionomia sociale a favore di un’omogenea disposizione planetaria. Diversi luoghi come capitoli coscienti dello sguardo lento, profondo, razionale: per narrare un’epica planetaria che suona con la percussione della pietra, le corde degli alberi, i fiati del vento, i tasti bianconeri del mare. E’ la musica visuale dell’entropia, il gancio armonico che accarezza il Pianeta mentre respira dai suoi molteplici spazi d’ossigenazione. Luoghi specifici che appartengono agli immaginari letterari di una Terra dai tratti alieni, straniera a noi stessi in quanto gigantesca, scenografica, fuori dai confini del normale. A modulare i dettagli ci pensano le gamme ascetiche del grigio, piccole variabili che richiamano il Glenn Gould e le sua variazioni su Bach. Ci sono spostamenti minimi che ragionano con la logica del tessuto, come se le superfici fossero leggere e sottili, fogli di seta su cui l’atmosfera incide i segni di una vecchiaia eterna. Le immagini di Bosso raggelano e al contempo scaldano, somigliano al ghiaccio bollente che brucia quando scende sotto certe temperature. Ci vedo l’ambiguità folgorante che solo la Natura può permettersi, una bellezza calma ma mai immobile, in attesa che il milione si confonda col miliardo, che il miliardo si mescoli con l’infinito. Bosso ferma gli istanti e li rende momenti prolungati, ne scova la natura meditativa e una specie di coscienza del tempo cosmico. Gianluca Marziani

Nella nuova serie AFTER DARK, Francesco Bosso ci presenta scorci naturalistici, luoghi caratterizzati da forme essenziali, composizioni minimal a volte al limite dell’astrazione, dove i forti contrasti tra i toni chiari e scuri creano immagini ben definite, ma anche evanescenti e vaporose visioni atmosferiche. Ma in questa serie, è il buio ad avanzare nello spazio circostante come sostanza aerea che tutto avvolge e trasfigura? O è piuttosto la luce a contrastarne questa lenta e progressiva propagazione? E’ come se l’eterna opposizione tra queste due manifestazioni naturali trovasse nelle foto di Bosso un perfetto equilibrio visivo ed emotivo, come se il passaggio tra l’oscurità della notte e la luminosità del giorno fosse catturato dall’obiettivo proprio nel momento culminante, un crescendo che trova nei giusti tempi di ripresa e di scatto la sua più soddisfacente espressione. I soggetti divengono quindi i protagonisti di uno spettacolo naturale che l’autore intercetta e registra sul supporto chimico della pellicola fotografica, come personale interpretazione di una realtà che resta in attesa di essere colta nei suoi aspetti più suggestivi e coinvolgenti. Questo grazie anche ad un’attenta ed accurata capacità di osservazione che va oltre l’apparenza e si dirige verso la pura visibilità; con gradazioni tonali che sono come un secondo strato della realtà concreta, presente ma celato, che si manifesta alla vista solo se si ha il privilegio di poterlo sentire dentro, prima di vederlo fuori, intuirne la presenza, prima che sfugga per sempre, scoprirne la forza prima che il tempo l’indebolisca e la disperda nel suo flusso ininterrotto ed inesorabile.
