WATERHEAVEN Book
WATERHEAVEN”, Solemn Beauty by WALTER GUADAGNIN (engl):
” Calm waters, often immobile, at times transformed into a purely abstract flat grounds to highlight a determination to connect two different but not incompatible approaches to nature: on the one hand its transformation into pure and ethereal luminosity – which in the end eliminates even the horizon line and any incidental element in the sky; on the other hand the perception of the real that is always bound to matter, to its physically demonstrable concreteness. In these photographs, thus, what becomes the image is the very concept itself of fluidity, of becoming, which was also at the root of high philosophical reflections and which is measured against the solidity of the portions of Earth that represent the other unquestionable protagonist of these scenes. They stand out alone at times, dominating the composition, authentic natural totems when they are shot in the very near foreground, or more domestic apparitions when they appear on the horizon, like sculptures or gardens hanging over the water, apparitions with a supernatural grace that is however combined with a no less important stability, in which another iconographic matrix, of oriental stamp, that constructs the meaning on emptiness rather than on fullness becomes evident (14,26,29). Or alternatively they live like characters on a stage built precisely on the marine surface, each one with his own structure, one might almost say, except in the case of two photographs at the end of the book, in which the mist makes it impossible to interpret the individual form and transforms the rocks into phantasmal apparitions, into designs in which the substance is equal to that of the light, and not to that of the matter of which they are formed. It is, in short, an authentic great theatre of the world, from which man is necessarily excluded, invited to look at what and how much marvel still exists on Earth, and to become aware of just how much this deserves to be respected and preserved. Because, paradoxically, nowadays it is no longer possible to see such beauty without thinking of the risk that mankind is running: thus it is not a beautifying of the real that emerges from these photos, but a dawning realisation expressed clearly by the language of art. So that even our successors may enjoy a “solemn beauty”. “

THE BEAUTY BETWEEN ORDER AND DISORDER Book
THE BEAUTY BETWEEN ORDER AND DISORDER, 56^ Biennale di Venezia – PRESENT NEARNESS
The search for an artist of contemporary photography, where aesthetics meet technical rigor and conceptual caliber. Francesco Bosso presents a selection of works, from the latest series “After Dark”, together with a recollection from previous works, through a different reading, bringing out a transversal perspective never before revealed. A vision of the complex dynamics of Nature that we are accustomed to classify as ORDERS and DISORDERS, where apparently chaotic forms hide surprising rhythms of regularity, where moments nest in other moments, where fragmented landscapes, moving dunes, sculpted rocks, rough waters, they chase each other alternating moments of Order with moments of Disorder.
In the “visions” of Bosso there is a non-univocal perception where the scene is continually decomposed and recomposed, where one can glimpse by changing one’s point of view, the Order that governs Disorder.
His concept of landscape has the harmonious breath of romantic painting, metabolized and sized on the contemporary weight of photographic vision. He has always preferred the modular black and white, made up of many variations of gray and of the intermediate tonal scales. His expression thinks in a pictorial way, inside the powerful naturism of the uncontaminated landscape. A methodical and very slow view, the result of long waits in selected places, of precious materials on which to print, techniques with infinitesimal calibrations.

A White Tale Book
A White Tale
It is a world so high, compared to us, that we do not hear its sound …. This is why white strikes us, like a great silence that seems absolute to us. In this sense, white loses its color character, preferring instead the character of whiteness, abstract and open to linguistic contamination with terms such as “pure”. White as the absence of sound. The place of purity. Place of nothingness and of the invisible.
This time the style and the views of boxwood are unmistakable, known for his black and white photographs the result of years of research around the world. “Americas” is the turning point of the Artist iconography, from reportage to landscape loud at times sparse and open spaces shaped by wind and water or angles metropolis full of humanity, but devoid of human presence or known icons of the American landscape alternating to unpublished dreamlike visions.
“Boxwood interested in ethnology and the relations between nations presents us with its icons all humanity, sensitivity and delicacy of these. His images, with the depth of the tones and the ability to merge man with the landscape, remind me in some ways those of Salgado I hosted Sicof and I was honored to meet and follow on many occasions including the major exhibition Arles “. Inspired by the aggravating damage of environmental pollution, the project’s aim is to denounce the melting of glaciers due to climate change. In light of such issues, I would like to offer my contribution to stop the melting of glaciers and to encourage the public to adhere to an ethic of Conservation of Nature, since we cannot afford to destroy it. The images display the beauty of the Arctic through the emblematic icons of the big icebergs, which let viewers think about the unique characteristics of such sites.
Icebergs now becoming increasingly rare, precious jewels of nature at risk of extinction. Although they have a short life, sometimes just a few weeks, they are as majestic as rocky mountains, unavoidably beaten and sculpted by wind and water, creating new shapes unabated By emphasizing the gravity of ice melting, the dialogue between Art and Environment can facilitate the big change toward conservation. Sustainability requires innovative ways of dealing with Nature, which is necessary to avoid “the point of no return”!

SILVER WHITE – ALL COLORS WHITE
While it is true that nature is dominated by the color is not at all easy to try to grasp what because the sea can be blue or indigo and turquoise, sky blue as well as pink, orange, fiery red, a mountain can have metallic shades, a forest reflect the infinite shades of green. Things change when to deal with the natural world, the photographer chooses to use the black and white so as to force the viewer to enter into a universe of references loads of charm a bit ‘mysterious.
Francesco Bosso is a careful student of classical photography well composed and printed by him strictly for the plasticity and the spectacular care to the American School of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston of which is stated connoisseur. The images reveal his personal perception of nature as a pristine place, almost the opposite – as you can imagine the utter lack of human figures – one in which we live. His landscapes are bathed in silence, appearing as faint visions, evoking a rarefied atmosphere, take on a grandeur that you can not escape. These all natural paradises surface, the solid ice, the milky sea, the positions of the mystery of the desert, the compact design of the sky, come to resemble one. And ‘the effect of a black and white all played on the lighter shades where what appears to be the volumes created by the many shades of gray and white dall’abbacinante appearance. The photographs of “Silver White” indicate a few seemingly simple elements – a snow-covered tree that stands up to the sky, two dunes that are pursued in a web of geometries, a slit opening in the ice – and yet are able to pass a subtle charm, the nature reserve as a gift to those who can observe, describe, interpret it.

White World Book
White World
In ‘WHITE WORLD’ the author reveals his personal perception of nature seen as an uncontaminated place in contrast with the world we live in, landscapes characterized by silence, the appearance of evanescent visions, that evoke rarefied atmospheres, a grandeur from which you cannot escape.
The portfolio white world represents a series of pictures taken in various places, different from one another and distant from each other, but sharing a particular tone of research, a selection of images taken from various works that extend from the snowy stretches of St Moritz to the dunes of Grand Erg going through the salt valleys and the sculptured rocks of the Seychelles Islands, a way of looking at nature far from the stereotypes, reminding the observers of how precious is this good world and urging us to keep it intact.
